After both of them were released, they started writing to each other all the time since Sandy lived in Virginia and Dawn lived in Ohio. They planned to go to a cancer camp together through letters, from the suggestion of a nurse. Soon, they were off to the camp.
They finally were able to see each other after months of writing letters. They had a great time at the beginning of camp, especially since they met two boys named Greg and Mike. They had whole lot of fun especially after pranking the owner of the camp.
Towards the end of camp, Sandy kissed Mike and Dawn kissed Greg. At the end of the day, they promised to write to each other and come back the next year to see each other again. BUT....
Sandy relapsed with her cancer and was sent to Mexico because her father didn't trust the old hospital anymore. Sandy and Dawn still wrote to each other everyday, and still promised that she would get better. But Sandy knew she wasn't getting better. She felt no pain though.
A few weeks after entering the hospital in Mexico, Sandy passed away. Dawn received a telegram from her parents and a package from Sandy full of things she wanted Dawn to have. Dawn cried and cried for ages, but she knew she had to get over to sooner or later.
THE END. By the way, this book actually left off on a cliffhanger, soooo.
