  • Rome had created a republic, a system where there was no monarch but was ruled by the people instead. In this republic they had a senate which contained around 300 landowners (these people usually served for life).
  • Law
  • In early Rome there were two main groups of people, the Plebeians and the Patricians. The Patricians were usually wealthy and owned land, these were the people that ran the government. The Plebeians were the poor, many were farmers and they didn't serve in the gov.
  • Religion
  • People in Rome used a principle that we still use today, a person is innocent until proven otherwise. There also had to be a judge present to make the decisions.

  • Romans also made it possible for there people to receive education, be registered as a citizen, entertainment, and safety/protection.
  • Romans at the time did not tolerate any other religions which is when the idea of Christianity was born. Many Greeks did not tolerate people worshiping this religion.

  • Believing in one god is good.
  • Jesus was the one who was spreading the idea of Christianity and was eventually killed by the Romans. But his death made an impact, eventually in time Romans began to tolerate this religion but only to some extent.
