Storyboard Text

  • Okay, but why should I care? I'm not living in poverty.
  • Poverty is a serious problem today. Worldwide, there are 1.2 billion people living on less than $1.25 dollars per day.
  • Well, yeah. But people here are homeless because they're too lazy to get a job.
  • Don't we have a lot of homeless people in the U.S.?
  • That's not true. My uncle was homeless because his house got foreclosed when the economy tanked. He had a job but his credit was bad so he couldn't get an apartment.
  • Good observation, James. Many homeless people do not fit the stereotypes about them.
