Hello, today I am going to give a brief, but informative presentation on Obesity.
A lifestyle disease (such as Obesity) is a disease that is associated with the way a person lives their life.
Obesity is a lifestyle disease that means the person has excessive body mass, causing problems with the body.
The spread of Obesity in Australia is large because it is a lifestyle disease which is easily gained. This can be by a poor diet and a lack of physical activity, as well as rare medical conditions.
In 2015, more than 1.2 million children (2-17) in Australia were overweight or obese. If current weight gain levels continue, around 80% of Australian adults and one third (33.3%) of children will be either overweight or obese!
As of 2017, currently, 25% of Australian children and adolescents are either overweight or obese, meaning 1 in 4 people!
It is predicted that by the time that children today reach the age of 20, they will have a shorter life expectancy because of obesity.
