The united states places embargoes on all war supplies going to japan. The US restricted to export of oil and scrap metals. The embargo was set in place to stop Japans expansion.
On December 7th 1941 The Japanese Imperial Navy launched an attack on a US naval base in Hawaii. More than 180 ships were destroyed and over 2,300 died.
During World War 2 the US put Japanese citizens into interment camps out of fear that they might be loyal to Japan. Over 127 thousand people with Japanese ancestry were locked up during World War 2
