King Tut was born in Amarna. King Tut was a prince in Egypt's royal court around 1341 BC. His name was changed from Tutankhamen to Tutankhumen after his father died. He was very well know in his town even when he was a kid.
He was the 12th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. He ruled Egypt for 10 years until hid death at 19 years old. He is arguably the best/most famous pharaoh of all time, Tutankhuman's legacy was largely negated by his successors.
King Tut was mummified so we know what he did, ate, and what he wore. We also know what he liked because he brought the things he liked into his tomb for the afterlife. Usually scientists, archaeologists, and historians figured these things out.
