Today class, we will be taking a field trip to learn about examples of pi in nature!
How can math even be found outdoors anyway?
Well, pi in nature is more common than you may think.
You see, in life, there are many different unexplained examples of spirals in nature, and it was a large mystery, almost not thought of, how this could be possible.
Wow! So do you mean things reoccurring patterns like flower petal patterns, Leopard prints and Zebra stripes?
Who came up with this idea?
Well, there was a genius named Alan Turing, who noticed these patterns, and used the idea of pi to explain them
He analyzed many patterns, including the waves in sand dunes! He gave so many others ideas for the uses of pi!
Wow, I love math!
As you can see, pi does in fact have a large role in things we see in nature.
