New Economic Policy
Political Reforms/ Formation of USSR
In March 1921, Lenin resorted to a small-scale version of capitalism called the New Economic Policy. The reforms under the it allowed peasants to sell their surplus crops instead of turning them over to the government. Such as banks, businesses, and farms.
To keep nationalism in check, Lenin had began to organize Russia into several self-governing republics under the central government. The Bolsheviks later on changed their part name to the Communist Party.
