For a while, the Painter took all the color away from the world in the 1900s. By then most people had forgotten about him, and didn't notice the color change. This is why old movies are black and white.
The Squirrel, the Man, and the Tree decided to catch him. They lured him to the tree, where he fell asleep underneath. They captured the Painter, after a struggle.
The Squirrel and the Tree
The Man, the Squirrel, and the Tree (now known as the Weeping Willow) taught the Painter the Golden Rule, and he was kind to others forever.
The Painter is a cruel young man who takes delight in causing sadness because he, for a short time, had the only color in the world. He eventually became kind, after learning a lesson that kindness is important.
The Squirrel is a kind little creature that loves his family, but ends up being skittish. He still loves his family.(and acorns too). The Tree is a sociable creature, who just wants to have a talk. He lost his voice many years ago, due to his weeping, but sometimes you'll hear him humming to the birds.
The Man never had any interests in life, except he wanted color. When he got color, he was so happy, he just stared. He created vanity but ended up being wise, after losing all of his color, an then getting it back.
