Scene 2 Ismene tries to save Antigone first by taking the blame for her but latter she reminds Creon that Antigone is betrothed to marry his son Haimon. Although neither attempt works and Antigone is sentenced to death.
Scene 3 Creon meets with Haimon to tell him about Antigone's sentence. At first Haimon is respectful but eventually he contradicts his father which angers Creon because his son is not being respectful as he should be.
