The first slide shows that Charles X took away voting rights for the people. And one of the men said they should revolt, and they did. In 1830, liberals overthrew Charles X, an established a constitutional monarchy.
The second slide is a map of Europe, this is because in 1815 Belgium overthew the Dutch and became independant. But in the same year when the liberals overthrew Charles X, Italy and Poland tried to break free from foreign domination and failed as Austria held Italy captive and Russia held control of Poland.
The third slide shows a liberal saying Change is good. This slide says this because liberal and nationalist success in France in Belgium, most of Europe was still a conservative order. The liberalism and nationalism forces grow bringing big change by the revolution of 1848.
In 1846, there were severe economic hardships in France to the lower middle class, workers, and peasants. At the same time middle class citizens wanted the right to vote. The government refused to make changes, and wass eventually overthrown in 1848. The radical republicans set up a temporary government. The republicans wanted a republic, which leaders are elected.
The temporary government gave people the right to vote. But the number of unemployed men rose from 66,000 to 120,000 in the matter of a few months. This was starting to scare the moderates, and emptied the treasury.
The government because of the unemployment rate being so low, decided to close workshops. But the workers poured into the streets to protest. During the four days thousands were killed or injured. And thousands more were sent to a French Prison Colony in Nothern Africa.
