A problem arises as Theseus and Hippolyta would like to marry and Egeus storms in and demands Hermia marry Demetrius. Hermia denies and prefers death over not marrying Lysander.
Puck you fool! This has gone on long enough, fix it immediately.
As Lysander and Hermia plan to run away to his aunt's house to get married, they find a saddened Helena. They tell Helena their plan and it backfires as Helena goes behind thier backs and tells Demetrius.
I felt as if I was in a dream
A love conflict arises as Oberon has his servant Puck put a love potion onto Demetrius's eyes but he actually puts it on Lysander's eyes. Titania is put under the same spell whilst this is going on. Then, a love potion is put over Demetrius as well so the both of them are in love with Helena. Both Helena and Hermia are distraught and wildly confused.
Do not fret, this is merely an act
The lovers are all cured except for Demetrius, who is left in the spell to love Helena as to make for two perfect love pairings. Titania and Oberon are back together and happy and the lovers feel as if they were in a dream.
As the lovers are cured and they are found by Thesius, Hippolyta, Egeus, and others, they explain that their love problems have been resolved. And, to Egeus's dismay, Thesius declares that the couples shall remain together and there will be a triple wedding.
At the conclusion of the lovers' tale, the wedding takes place and Bottom and his crew perform the play 'Pyramus and Thisbe' terribly, but is a hit with the wedding party. All three couples are happily married and they live happily ever after.
