In this scene, the three witches discuss meeting with Macbeth and declaring his prophecy. They also reveal their malevolent plan to take away an innocent mans sleep. '' I'll drain him dry as hay. Sleep shall neither night or day Hang upon his penthouse lid. He shall live a man forbid." This reveals that the witches are evil and unpredictable.
In this scene, Macbeth comes to Lady Macbeth after killing Duncan. This scene shoes that Macbeth is weak and not cut out for being a king. First, he realizes that he didn't leave the dagger at the murder cite. Second, he begins to hear voices in his head and he wishes he hadn't done it.
In this scene, Macbeth convinces two murders to kill his best friend, Banquo. This shows that Macbeth took his prophecy very seriously and was willing to do whatever it takes to be King. " Know Banquo was your enemy."( Shakespeare 79) Macbeth is reminding the murderers that Banquo was the person who gave them a bad reputation.
