Larry Bird was 17 years old boy who lived in a farm in Ohio
I love my job
When the great depression hit, he made the choice to drop out of high school to find a job to help his family because his mother lost her job as a high school teacher.
As Larry and his dad Joe, were working in their farm field, Larry dad told him that there is a FDR New deal program called National Youth Administration that provided young Americas with employment, he was in shock that he could get a job because of NYA Program.
I'm glad another of FDR new deal program called AAA could help my dad farm so i could go back to schol
Larry got a job in the city working in a factory, he was really excited on his first day of work because he had a job where he could help his family.
Every day, He would wake up in the morning, eat breakfast and go to a train station to catch a train, to go to work and he would returned home by riding the train back home.
After working for two months Larry parents decided to make him quite his job and finish his high school because Larry parent told him that education is more important.
