Queen Elizabeth I storyboard
This storyboard does not have a description.
I am Queen Elizabeth I. I was the daughter of Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII. I had a half-brother named Edward VI and a half-sister named Mary I (Bloody Mary).
I was the middle child between my half-sibilings Mary and Edward. I watched as my mother was executed in a tower after having me, a daughter, instead of a son. Eventually, after having 6 wives and 3 children, Henry died and Catherine Parr, his 6th wife, outlived him.
Edward took the throne at 10 years old and died shortly after of tuberculosis. Mary was next to the throne and was a cruel queen, she killed hundreds of protestants and threatened to kill me! She also died shortly after. And shockingly, I took the throne next. I was a very nice queen, I even was dubbed the nickname "Good Queen Bess".
As mentioned earlier, I was a very nice queen but I stood my ground. I was the first successful female ruler in England. I refused to marry those I thought were power hungry including Phillip II of Spain. In addition, I defeated the Spanish Armada and defended many countries. Finally, I was mostly calm and rational against religious disagreements unlike Bloody Mary.
While I was protestant, I believed that all religions should get along and be one in the same. There were times when I would get slack from the catholic church but things were mostly calm. In 1559, I established a religious settlement which created a strong relationship between the church and the crown. It was mostly to repair the damage done by Mary I. It allowed citizens to have their own beliefs with a set of basic rules.
Pretend this is the pope
To this day, I set an example for female leaders all around the world. I show that women can be just as successful, powerful, and just as men. I am also an inspiration to the current queen of England, Elizabeth II. GIRL POWER!
