  • Sure is fascinating how this is possible. 
  • You see Jake, that yellow object is a magnet.
  • Gravity is the force that pulls us towards the center of the Earth. Thus making the jumping girl fall back down to the ground.

  • Hey mom, how does that picture stick to the fridge?
  • In this scenario, friction takes place. As the person pushes against the chair, an opposite but equal force acts on them, causing the chair to only slightly move depending on the amount of force.

  • Elastic force is the force that happens when something is able to return to its original state.  The force it exerts is elastic.

  • Magnetism takes place here. The magnetite in the yellow magnet is attracted to the metal fridge door. Thus the picture between them is held in place by this invisible, yet sometimes powerful force.
  • In this diagram, you are able to see how the magnetite and metals react and are attractive to each other. Thus the force allows the picture to be hung.

  • As you can see, elastic force is present when the bungee is stretching. It's what allows the person to bounce and spring back up instead of falling to the ground.
