When I was younger I used to play a lot of football for a local football team. through my years playing for it, I had to take on a lot of roles as a leader. The main one being the captain of the team at some points which meant I had to guide my team mates and motivate them so we would win games and play better as a team.
As I grew up and progressed through primary and secondary school I built leadership skills within things like team work to get through activities with class mates better. I think that everyone can act as a leader to one another whether it is being a teacher or a leader of a group
When I got my first job which was at Clarks. all of the staff including me had to be leaders towards each other in order to keep up with customer demand. this taught me a lot about leadership
Since starting university, I have learnt a lot about leadership through the leadership module of my business course. learning things like situational leadership and the Hersey and Blanchard model.
Some of the things that I have learnt so far on the leadership part of my course have helped me improve at my current workplace with co-operating with colleagues and working better as a team.
In the future I hope to gain a better knowledge of leadership and what it takes to be a good leader as well as hopefully portray myself and make myself a better leader.
