Storyboard Text

  • General Charles Cornwallis was a general on the side of the British and Horatio Gates was a general on the side of the Americans. After the result of the war, they actually replaced Horatio by renaming a new general to lead their soldiers into the war. This gave them an advantage to do better and to defeat the British in future wars.
  • The outcome of the war was that the British won while losing 68 men, but the colonists lost with having 900 people killed or injured and 1,000 captured by the army. Many colonists actually fled the country as well, just to get away from the vicious warfare.
  • The battle took place on Wednesday, August 16 1780, when the Americans went forward to attack the British. This battle only lasted one day, but resulted in tons of Americans killed and injured. It also, took place in Camden, South Carolina.
