  • We are colored people in a time period called the Great Depression, a lot of people were poor and segregation and the Jim Crow Laws are in place. 
  • Colored

  • We are going to talk about what it was like. 
  • We were often refused jobs and we even had to eat at different restaurants, also we had to move out of the way of white people, it was extremely unfair.
  • A lot of people didn't even have houses it was so bad! The reason all of this happened was because of the crash of the stock market.
  • Taking out a loan, investing it into a company, then gaining money  from them and paying back your debt,having more money in the process. 
  • We would be attacked  by the KKK, and sometimes have to life in a Hooverville.
  • A Hooverville is a large area of land taken up completely by tiny homes. The president at the time thought the Great Depression would solve its sell and so people made to show him it wouldn't.
  • Stocks were when you pay a company to get a say in what they do. 
  • And maybe even get some income from it so people would buy from them.
  • People just kept on taking out loans, and eventually, it all crashed because nobody had real money.
  • Eventually people would take out loans to use for stocks and using the income, pay back debt. 
  • In your century, there's a method of becoming rich using the same method.
