Deforestation in Indonesia
This storyboard does not have a description.
Indonesia's forests are home to many species of animals.
However, the palm oil industry of Indonesia is planning to take over many of the forests and drive out the animals so that the land is theirs
The habitat of these animals have been cleared for more industries to be built on top. In doing so many species of animals die or become close to extinction
From this all habitats in the area are destroyed and are going to be made into new industries
New industries have been made where there was once land that was home to many animals. Indonesia benefits from these industries but is hurt by more pollution and less biodiversity
In the long run Indonesia's biodiversity has dropped in large quantities, the palm oil industry is destroying the wildlife and creating more carbon emissions. With its wildlife, forests, coral reefs, cultural attractions, and warm seas, Indonesia has tremendous potential for eco-tourism, but has caused social issues and environmental problems from forest clearing, mangrove development, pollution, and resort construction.
