THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM The digestive system starts out with a normal human eating his or her meal. When the food enters the mouth the saliva breaks down the food into tiny peices so the human can swallow.
After the human swallows it the food goes to the esophagus
After the esophagus, the food goes to the stomach where the acids break down the food even more
Once the stomach finally breaks down the food, the food goes to the small intestine where it collects nutrients for the cells
The final stage is the large intestine where it collects water and salt
Then whats left of the food travels to the rectum and is considered waste, or poop
