  • Eliezer and his father were not ready for what lied ahead of them and they didnt want to know. They didn't want to know what treachrous obstacles lied before them.

  • In chapter 7, they wanted to clear out the dead bodies because they were taking up the space and were obviously useless.
  • "Throw out all the dead! Outside, all the corpses!" pg.99
  • In the concentration camps, the jews would take early trips. When the German laborers would come out they would stop and look at them without suprise and it was a normal thing for them.
  • "Occasionally, we would pass through German towns. Usually, very early in the morning" pg 100
  • Everyone was so hungry, that they fought over it with animal spir, that one ended up collapsing because of how desperate they were for food.
  • "He collapsed. But his fist was still clutchung a small crust"pg 101
  • When Eliezer was sleeping someone started to strangle him. He called out to his father, but his father was too weak. Which led to him calling Meir Katz for help.
  • "Come quickly someone is strangling my son"pg 102
  • The journey was so dangerous that people started dying because of the coldness. They tried relentlessly to cover themselves with blankets, but failed in the end.
