  • Britain Expands Control Over India
  • India
  • Sepoy Mutiny
  • We refuse to convert to Christianity and we refuse to work
  • British takes direct control
  • I got my eyes on you!
  • India was ruled by the British. India was known as "jewel in the crown" because it was Britain's largest supplier of raw materials and its largest market for finished goods.
  • Lots of Sepoys refused to work in the army and they did not want to convert. The Sepoys rebelled against the British and captured Delhi.
  • British did not like these rebellions so then the British governments took direct command of India. British were racist to Sepoys. All of this caused distrust between British and Indians.
