- "Every terrible is now a terror. The guards fire, but there are simply too many kids, and not enough tranq bullets. For every kid that goes down, there's another kid that doesn't. The guards are quickly overwhelmed, and once they are, the mobs starts storming the front gate" (Shusterman 311).
- After escaping their transportation to their harvest and the Juvey Cop chasing them, Connor and Risa decide to work together and bring Lev with them. Lev was born to be unwound, so he is against running away from harvest, but he cooperates.
- Mai, Blaine, and Lev plan to bomb the Harvest Clinic as clappers. However, Lev cannot bring himself to blow himself up. During the explosion, Lev saves Connor while he is inside the clinic. This turning point was when all of the Unwinds at Happy Jack revolted and were able to change federal laws. Connor Lassiter and Lev Calder were recognized as heroes. Risa was saved from unwinding and they all returned to their true home.
- Connor and Risa return to the Graveyard and run it. They help runaway Unwinds escape their fate. They help them reach age eighteen and lead them to a life of freedom, without fear.
