"but he was a burden in many ways." (Hurst, page 345) This is the narrator speaking. He finds his brother as burden rather than a human being. This shows how he is unsympathetic and cruel.
"to discourage him coming with me...careen him around corners of two wheels. Sometimes I would accidentally turn him over..." (Hurst, page 345) This shows how the narrator is cruel. It also shows how he is selfish because he would hurt his brother in order to try to get him to not come.
then I'll leave you here by yourself'...Doodle jump was frightened of being left. 'Don't go leave me brother' he cried and leaned towards the coffin." (Hurst, page 346) The narrator was telling Doodle that everyone thought he was going to die when a baby, and made Doodle touch his coffin.
