It was good! In business class we have to create a company and I'm the CEO. Piece of cake!
Piece of cake? What do you think a CEO does?
You know, sit in a fancy office or hang out at home on the computer like Grandpa does!
A CEO is a very important person in a company. When Grandpa started his seafood brokerage and shellfish hatchery, he did most of the work himself. IF he was home, he was on the phone with overseas seafood buyers and biologists and partners and, and, and. Even at night the phone calls didn't stop because he would negotiate shellfish prices with the Chinese as they were waking up in the morning.
As Grandpa's business grew, he was able to hire more people to fill some of the roles he was in and, because he worked so hard and was so passionate about the job, the employees emulate that. His work ethic and attitude established a hard-working, honest and passionate company culture.
Wow. I didn't know that. CEO Sounds like a really big job.
Mmhm. It sure is. It takes a special and strong leader to be a CEO. They're the heart of the company! How the CEO presents himself, he presents the company, it's part of him.
Well, then I'll be like Grandpa. I'll work hard, delegate with respect, ask more qualified people when I don't understand and I'll treat my employees with patience.
