Jess Locklear 6.01.99 Mr. Beaufort is here with a lot of men in yellow hard hats, and they cleared the field, and they are RUINING our crops. He might as well cut off our heads, if we are going to have nothing to eat. However, he invited everyone in the tribe to eat dinner with him and his men tonight.
The dinner was lovely. We had corn, and buffaloe, and rolls. The rest of my tribe thinks Mr. Beaufort is an owl. This traditionally means bad luck in our culture, but I know from my caucasian studies that an owl is traditionally revered as wise and knowledgable. Everyone in my tribe is distraught at what Mr. Beaufort is doing to our village. I am not yet of age for my Vision Quest, and do not know what direction my life will take, but perhaps I could entrigue Mr. Beaufort with an offer, in exchange for the protection of my tribe and village.

Jess Locklear 6.23.99 I’ve been sneaking off to see Mr. Beaufort every night since the third of July. He presents me with gifts of my culture and his. He is actually falling for me, little does he know I am only doing this to save my tribe.
"Will you marry me?"
Anything for you.
“I will only marry you if you return the land to my people, and live in my village with me as husband and wife.”
Jess Locklear 7.31.99 We got married today, and my village hosted an extravagant marriage ceremony in our traditional culture, and we are living together, all to save my village and family.
