The more velocity and power I put on the stick as I'm about to shoot gives it more potential energy because it has the potential to hot the puck fast and hard and make it move.
So the harder and faster we shoot the better shot we will have.
What does potential energy have to do with hockey?
The more force and velocity I put on the hockey stick the more kinetic energy the puck will have because if I put more force on the stick, when my stick hits the puck it will cause it gos faster and harder.
So the more potential energy that is on the shot the kinetic energy it will have which will ultimately lead to a beter shot.
