Storyboard Text

  • The government does not have any power under the Articles of Confederation
  • We should have a Constitutional Convention to change the articles.
  • There will also need to be checks and balances to control each branch.
  • Then we will need separation of powers to limit their control
  • We should have three branches of government to control the nation. These branches are Legislative (makes the laws), Executive (enforces the laws), and Judicial (interprets the laws).
  • I William Paterson say that each state should have the same about of representatives no mater the size of the state
  • New Jersey Plan Vs Virginia Plan
  • Well I James Madison say that representation should be based off of population
  • Why don't we have a Great Compromise and have a Senate and House of Representatives
  • Why don't we also create another Compromise that lets 3/5th of the slave population count as well.
  • We need the Constitution and the bigger government!
  • Federalist
  • Gentlemen, this is why we need a Bill of Rights in order!
  • If we amend the Constitution who will be protecting the smaller states?! We need to give each state more individual power.
  • Anti-Federalist
  • The Declaration of Independence, signed July 4, 1776, gave America its freedom. Now we are beginning the steps of creating our own self-government nation.
  • The US Constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788, making the document the law of the American law.
