  • What do you mean? Let us defend our country.
  • With my lust and greed, I would worsen the state of the country furthermore than it already is. 
  • I have lost all hope. 
  • Macduff, I have lied to you. Let's now go and fight Macbeth!
  • The cursed tyrant sits on the throne. Oh my heart! 
  • Malcolm shows no intent to defend Scotland, as he wants to test if Macduff is working for Macbeth. 
  • Malcolm lies for the first time to try to find out Macduff's loyalty to the country.
  • Macduff passes the test, and Malcolm tries to explain to him that he has lied.
