In the exposition, the author starts out by giving the plot of the story. He gives a description of the abandoned mansion being broken down and beaten up and very old. The author also give another scene. It starts out with some characters having a sleepover. The main characters in this scene are Griffin Bing, Ben Slovak, and some other friends. The kids start to explore the abandoned hotel, they find a baseball card.
Griffins family is undergoing some financial difficulties. Griffin is going to get the baseball card that they found in the old abandon hotel appraised to see if it has any value. The main conflict is that when the kids go to see S. Wendell Palomino. He is the appraiser that lies to them about the price and he planes to make a big profit from the card.
Griffins team of friends devise a plan to take the card back from S. Wendell Palomino, the guy that jacked the baseball card from the kids that is worth way more that he gave them. But griffins team makes a really in depth plan to take the card back but with all the fame swindle is getting from the card it will not be easy.
The team gets ready to carry out the highly planed out mission to retrieve the card back that swindle lied about. The team begins to execute the plan. They come across a big dog that is a bit of a road block in their plan but that doesn't stop them and they figure a way around the problem to ultimately get the card.
Before the kids can get the card they run into some issues of where the card is exactly located, some security alarms, and also some traps but after the team overcame those hurdles they manage to grab the card and make it out.
Griffin gets revenge on S. Wendell Palomino, He goes to jail and griffins family does not have to move. The team splits the money equally across all team members. The most important thing to griffin is that he does not have to move and is family is no longer having financial issues.
