  • "Had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead, to live all free men?"
  • Brutus says, "Believe me for mine honour." (Act 3, Scene 2, Page 61)This shows ethos because he is basically saying that people should listen to him because of his reputation as an honorable person.
  • Brutus says, "...I did love Caesar, but I loved Rome more." (Act 3, Scene 2, Page 61) This brings out the emotion in people by making them feel more patriotic and show loyalty to Rome.
  • "Had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead, to live all free men?" (Act 3, Scene 2, Page 61) This is Brutus explaining why he had the right to kill Caesar. He tells the audience that if he hadn't killed Caesar, they would be slaves in his dictatorship.
