Storyboard Text

  • "He wanted to explain how people were never quite what you thought they were."
  • Ralph starts to see the differences in the group members
  • "Although he was frightened while with the other boys, he quickly regains confidence when he explores on his own."
  • This goes into the topic of loneliness
  • "Feels that the ocean is an impenetrable wall.."
  • In chapter 7, Ralph thinks of the ocean... Seeing that there is no way off the island and they're stuck forever.
  • Also, piggy is not very fit, nor is he like the others in many ways, so they are against him, which causes him to feel lonely
  • "You cant do anything, fatty!"
  • And when Jack basically takes everyone, they question Ralph's leadership, they start to not worry about Ralph, causing Ralph to not think he's important.
  • "Who thinks I should be chief, and not Ralph? We all know i can provide food AND protection for all of you, what can Ralph do for you?"
  • Then, after the deaths of Simon and Piggy, Ralph realizes everything has been basically stripped from the island, and Ralph cries uncontrolably
  • "How could I have let this happen..?"
