Storyboard Text

  • Excuse me. Do you know what that poster means?
  • Sociological Imagination
  • Why of course I do! That's the poster of Oprah Winfrey, the most inspirational person of all time!
  • Both parties in this scenario have different milieus- they are in different social classes, with different influences, and different norms, which is why the boy is so shocked that the girl doesn't know who Oprah Winfrey is.
  • Oprah Winfrey? I've never heard of her.
  • You must of heard of her! She's like all over the internet.
  • Social Location- Because of the boy's place in society, he uses the internet regularly, in fact it would be bizarre if he didn't. But, the girl is on the opposite end of the spectrum because she is homeless, so she feels targeted when he assumes she has access to the internet.
  • Not everybody can afford to waste their money on the internet
  • This is all I've got. I don't have the internet!
  • Oh... I don't know what to say!
