patient is given a non-rebreather mask at 15 liters per minute. respiratory rate is 32 breaths per minute. heart rate is 50 beats per minute, and blood pressure is 90/70. No signs of external or internal bleeding.
wife informs that he also has CHF and is taking medication for it. The EMTs allow her to assist his with his medications. (furosemide, isosorbide denigrate, nitroglycerine, and digoxin)
EMTs give the patient a focused physical, check the oxygen treatment given and receive confirmation that its helping with the pain.
the decision is to "load and go". detailed assessment is performed while en route to the hospital.
