Manufacturing vs Farming Hamilton favored manufacturing and trade as well as the growth of cities. Jefferson thought that farming was prospering our country.
Federal or State Governments Hamilton believed in a strong federal government and a weak state government because it encouraged the growth of trade. Jefferson wanted a strong state government and weak federal government because people could act as they pleased.
Strict or Loose Interpretation of Constitution Jefferson believed in the strict interpretation while Hamilton wanted a looser interpretation of the constitution.
Britain or France Hamilton wanted to form close ties with Britain and Jefferson wanted to keep there close ties with France.
