  • The Boston Massacre
  • The Quartering Act was a very unfair act. The act ordered that the colonists had to provide "quarters," for British soldiers. The colonists also had to give them food and other supplies.  Since the colonists didn't like this act most of them didn't treat the soldiers well.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • Only get the tea!
  • After fighting in the French and Indian war  Britain needed money to pay debts, and for the remaining soldiers that were still in America. So in 1765 Parliament passed a new tax law called the Stamp Act.
  • The Intolerable Acts
  • Ahhh!
  • On March 5, 1770 colonists were standing outside and  taunting the soldiers because they were still mad at them for being in their country. The Captain ordered the soldiers to hold fire. One soldier misheard and fired a gunshot into the crowd. This action lead to a huge fight. in the end five men were dead and many wounded.
  • Ah! Their coming!
  • On December 16, 1773 a group of men dressed up as native Americans and climber aboard the tea ships in the Boston harbor. They were protesting the tea tax. There they split about 90,000 pounds of open tea into the harbor. The protesters were careful not to damage anything besides the tea.
  • After the Boston Tea Party, Parliament decided to punish the colonists by passing several new laws. These laws were so harsh the colonists could not tolerate them.  They called these acts The Intolerable Acts. Sometimes people would kidnap tax collectors, cover them in tar and bird feathers, and force tea down their throat to punish them for all the unfair taxes.
