By attending classes and learning on-the-job, electricians build a respect for electricity and its power, and they learn to value the importance of protective gear.
  • Electricians work inside and outside to install and/or repair power in homes or businesses.
  • An electrician makes about $26.00 per hour. The employment in 2016 was 666,900. In ten years (2026), the employment will increase by 9% with 726,500 openings.
