  • And turned that black word “death” to “banishment.” This is dear mercy, and thou seest it not.
  • Tybalt, Juliet's angry cousin challenges Romeo to a sword fight. Tybalt and Mercutio end up fighting, and Tybalt kills Mercutio. Romeo avenges Mercutio and kills Tybalt. Due to this Romeo is banished from Verona.
  • Act 3 Scene 4
  • O' Thursday, tell her, She shall be married to this noble earl
  • Juliet's nurse comes to her to tell her the news of Tybalt's death and Romeo's banishment. There is much confusion as the nurse tries to explain what has happened and Juliet believes Romeo is dead. The nurse sets Juliet straight, and Juliet cries due to Romeo's banishment.
  • Act 3 Scene 5
  • The County Paris, at Saint Peter’s Church, Shall happily make thee there a joyful bride.
  • Romeo hides out at Friar Lawrence's church and complains about his banishment because he is upset that he can't see Juliet. The Friar reminds Romeo that he is lucky to be alive.
  • Lord and Lady Capulet meet with Paris and arrange his marriage to Juliet. They believe that the marriage will help Juliet recover from the death of her cousin, Tybalt.
  • Romeo visits Juliet on her baloney and the two are finally reunited. However, their meeting is cut short because Lady Capulet comes to Juliet to tell her the news of her upcoming marriage, but Juliet refuses to marry Paris.
