John White comes back from England. He was out there getting supplies for the newly found colony, Roanoke. Before he left, he told the people to stay there. He looks around and notices everything is gone. The only sign of people being there is a carving in the tree stating, Croatoan.
He sees that there are no crosses in the trees, and while thinking, he realized that he said if they were in danger to carve a cross in the tree. He realizes it is very possible they could have went to the Croatoan Islands, a place with many resources and kind natives.
John then remembers he told them to carve where they are going if they decide to leave. He also remembers that considering past settlers had friendly relations with the Croatoan people, the Croatians would probably happily take the settlers in. He settles with his theory that they left to go to the islands, and is filled with instant relief. Join us next time for John's Adventure to the Croatoan Islands
