  • Oh, ok. And because the Northern Hemisphere opposite of the Southern, that means that it is summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
  • Brr! It's way too cold here.
  • YES! Also, we are in the middle of the Winter Solicis which means that we get about 10 hours of daylight and 14 of night time.
  • Then let's hurry. Right now we are in the Northern Hemisphere. The reason why it is so cold is because we are tilted away from the suns direct sunlight. We still get sunlight but it is indirect.
  • You really are getting the hang of this!
  • That means that we have 12 hours of daylight and night time.
  • Now, Earth has a whole side facing the Sun. It is Spring for us and Fall for the Southern Hemisphere.
  • So in the Southern Hemisphere, it is winter right now.
  • We are now summer! This means that the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun. During the summer solstice, we get about 14 hours of daylight, and 10 hours of night.
  • So, it is Fall here and Spring in the Southern Hemisphere. We have 12 hours of daylight and night time.
  • Well, where we live in Texas, it is already fall.
  • Hold on, why are we back home?
  • Oh.
  • Do you want to watch a show?
  • Sure. What show?
  • Sensational Seasons.
