A young wig maker thought a British soldier hadn't payed his wig bill. He told his friend he was a thief when a guard told them he was a gentleman and a group of people threw a snowball at him and the violence grew and people joined.

On December 16, 1773 colonists in Boston went to the docks where they kept the tea, and they dumped all of the crates of the tea into the harbor.

The British wanted the colonist to pay for the French and Indian war so they taxed stamps, but the colonists refused buy stamps until they passed the act. They passed the act in March of 1766.

The British established the Sugar Act to raise money for the colonies and when the French & Indian war happened they wanted colonist to pay for it. The colonists were upset that nobody had a voice in this but the Parliament. They came up with a phrase, "No Taxation without representation!"

England created the Townshed Acts to help pay off for the French and Indian war. They would tax paint, tea, paper, and glass to show to America that they could control them. Colonists boycotted and they repealed all of them except tea.

England made 3 Coercive Acts (Intolerable) which was to close the Boston Harbor, which affect ed their economy, to close the Massachusetts Legislature, so they don't have any control, and to require a British soldier live in every home. They hoped this would stop them from rebelling, but they did the opposite.
