  • A young wig maker thought a British soldier hadn't payed his wig bill. He told his friend he was a thief when a guard told them he was a gentleman and a group of people threw a snowball at him and the violence grew and people joined.

  • The British wanted the colonist to pay for the French and Indian war so they taxed stamps, but the colonists refused buy stamps until they passed the act. They passed the act in March of 1766.

  • The British established the Sugar Act to raise money for the colonies and when the French & Indian war happened they wanted colonist to pay for it. The colonists were upset that nobody had a voice in this but the Parliament. They came up with a phrase, "No Taxation without representation!"

They hoped this would stop them from rebelling, but they did the opposite.
