  • French Revolution: Introduction
  • I am the king of France, part of the First Estate!
  • Factors that led to the Revolution
  • I am not happy about all this resentment on the lower class!!
  • There are so many new ideas about government, I can't take it!
  • Meeting of the Estates General
  • We vote no.
  • We are going to break off and pass our own laws and reforms for the French people!
  • The French Revolution was a time when the prices on items were increasing, taxes were also increasing and questions about the Enlightenment were coming about. This was a time when France was about to have a major change in history.
  • The Tennis Court Oath
  • We are not leaving until you come up with a new constitution!!
  • There are five factors that led to the French Revolution: growing resentment among lower classes, new ideas about government, serious economic problems, weak/indecisive leadership and food shortage. 
  • The Storming of the Bastille
  • At the meeting of the Estates General, all three Estates were to approve the new tax. After this the Third Estate broke off and passed laws and reforms in the name of the French people.
  • The Great Fear
  • This oath was when the National Assembly broke down a door into an indoor tennis court saying they will stay there until the other estates draw up a new constitution. 
  • King Louis was going to use the military to dismiss the National Assembly and other foreign troops were coming to Paris to massacre the French citizens. To kill people, the Third Estate use sticks with dead men's heads on it.
  • The Great Fear was known as a wave of senseless panic through France where peasants became outlaws to themselves. This led to many new events in the future.
