WW2 was a group of several regional conflicts that interacted with each other politically and strategically.
The ones involved in the war were the allies (the United Kingdom and the U.S.), The axis (Japan and Germany), and the Soviet Union (Russia)
WW2 took place because of what happened 20 years earlier. At the end of WW1, The Treaty of Versailles broke its promises of keeping peace between Germany and other nations. Germany then attacked Poland and refused to abort the attack so Britain and France declared war on Germany.
Legacies -The Japanese government faces criticism for the way they handled the violence committed by the war regime. -Nazi hunters are still looked for war criminals so they can be punished -Europe split into 2 because of the uneasy alliance between the capitalists and communists philosophies -The United States is now the most powerful nation in the west.
Most of the combat from WW2 took place in Europe, East Asia, and the islands in the Pacific Ocean. Poland, China, Russia, and Germany were directly involved in the war. WW2 took place all across the world.
