Storyboard Text

  • This family is coming over from England, hoping to start a new life.
  • September 21st, 1763
  • I hear the farmland is amazing west of the Appalacian Mountains.
  • MMhmmm.  I think we're almost at the harbor.
  • Momma, Poppa, I think we're there!!!
  • Unfortunately, those hopes are to be crushed by the King.
  • Proclamation of 1763 No person from the colonies is to settle westward of the  Appalachian Mountains
  • Honestly, those people who want to move past those mountains are just not in their right mind.
  • October 7th, 1763
  • Emily really wanted to settle to the west of those mountains!
  • The King has stollen all of my dreams.
  • Joseph decides to tell Emily about their misfortune.
  • I'm so sorry, but we can't move west of the Appalachian Mountains, the King had forbidden it.
  • That night
  • Praise the Lord for my little boy.
  • We can move without telling the King, and no one will ever know but us!!
  • Jacob was listening, and has the most brilliant, but dangerous, idea.
  • That is an amazing idea, Jacob.
  • Later, Emily and her family leave for the west.  If only it wasn't just a dream.
  • When they actually leave, they are caught and arested for disobeying an order made by the King
  • Help, mother! I fell!!
