Storyboard Text

  • Expostion
  • With my own ten fingers I gained this skill, and by hard practice from early morning till night. I never had time to stand looking as you people do while another maiden worked. Nor if I had , would I give Athene credit because the girl was more skillful than I.
  • Rising Action
  • Stupid old woman. Who gave you the right to speak in this way to me?
  • Reckless girl. How dare you claim to be equal to the immortal gods themselves.
  • Rising Action
  • Arachne was a maiden that was not famous for living in a famous place, or being royalty but because of her skills in weaving, and her father was a dyer of wool. She was often told that Athene gave her the amazing power of weaving. Arachne never took it well.
  • Climax
  • One day when she heard people wondering she turned around and said the nasty words. Then an old woman said she was dumb and should ask Athene for her forgiveness. Arachne replied not so nicely.
  • Falling Action
  • How dare you!!
  • The old lady, tried to give Arachne advice and apologizes. And since Arachne never said sorry, the old lady turned into Athene the goddess and dueled Arachne in a weaving contest.
  • Resolution
  • Arachne accepted the challenge and was surprised to be going against some one close to as good as her. But she was angry, not scared.
  • Athene noticed Arachne's loom and shredded it in pieces. Pictures of gods being evil was on Arachne's loom, while Athene was making pictures of humans testing the gods and their unlucky life that fallowed.
  • Athene was so upset she made sure that Arachne and her dependence would be cursed forever and that when man looked at her and her dependence saw her they would know not to mess with the gods.
