Noiselessly Lennie appeared in the open doorway and stood there looking in, smiling helplessly
Crooks said sharply,"You got no right to come in my room. This here is my room nobody got any right to come in here but me." Why aint you wanted asked lennie... "cause i am black, they play cards in there, but i cant play because i am black.
After a pause Crooks said, "Maybe you better go along to your own house now. We don't want no trouble."
"LIsten, nigger "You know what i can do to you if you open up your trap?" Well, you keep your place then, nigger, i could get you strung up on a tree so easy it ain't even funny."
Crook´s room was swept and fairly neat, for Crooks was a proud aloof man. He kept his distance and demanded that other people keep theirs.
This quote shows how Crooks is isolated from everyone because of his race. During this time era racism existed a lot. As you can tell he feels sad because he doesn't have no one to communicate with, sometimes human beings need a shoulder to lean on... Crooks doesn't have this.
This quote shows how Crooks is being treated, he wasn't able to do nothing but surrender. Crooks didn't do nothing but try to not get in trouble and Curly's wife threatened him.
