  • Wheaties was created by accident. In the 1920s, a clinician in Minnesota accidentally spilled wheat bran mixture onto a hot stove which created Wheaties. The clinician took it to Washburn Crosby Company, now known as General Mills.
  • After World War II, the consumption of cereal increased. As well, Kellogg's created Frosted Flakes and its mascot, Tony the Tiger. Also, a new time of T.V. advertising started.
  • Cereal companies started to be all about labeling to attract customers to eat their cereal.
