- Men in the mountain that hunted and trapped beaver. Were also known as trappers. They helped Americans settle into the west.
- Mexican-American War
- FIRE!!!!!!!
- The Oregon Trail was a 2,000 mile route that was used by American pioneers and many more to immigrate to the west.
- Mormons in Utah
- Manifest Destiny motivated people to leave the places they were at and head west to search for a greater life. This happened from 1812 to 1867.
- California Gold Rush
- This war resulted in Mexican territory expanding westward to the Pacific ocean. The Mexican-American war lasted from April 1846 to February 1848. The war took place in Mexico and Texas.
- I'm going over
- Mormons had moved west to escape religious discrimination. Many Mormons died as they made their way over the mountains to get to Utah.

- California gold rush was a rush of looking for as much gold as the '49ers could find. There was many fights and trades over the gold that was fouund.
