  • Good question, Julia. ADI stands for Assistance Dogs International. ADI is a worldwide coalition of non-profit programs that train and place assistant dogs.

  • Objectives: - Establish and promote standards of excellence in assistance dog acquisition, training and partnership - Facilitate communication and learning among member programs -Educate the public to the benefits of Assistance Dogs and ADI membership.

  • The ADI establishes certain criteria that organizations strive to meet when training assistance dogs. People who use assistance dogs trust their safety and well-being to them, so it is crucial that these dogs be trained to meet the highest standards.

  • Not all service dog organizations can become a part of ADI. They must first complete the ADI Accreditation Process before they can become a member.
